The Civilist Papers

The generally accepted conclusion of anthropologists is that Homo Sapians are the only “race” of humans in existence today. Any differences are regulated to gender, geography, culture, or religion. The Civilist accepts these facts as truth, People are people – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Many of our forefathers, being men of the Enlightenment, recognized this. Even Thomas Jefferson, a slave owner, sensed this when he penned the words, “…all men are created equal.”

The concept of equality denies any notion of racial superiority. Sadly, in every nation throughout history, there have been factions who claimed superiority over others. This led to the “others” being treated inhumanely by those claiming superiority, often by race. The Royalists, those who claimed royal blood or the aristocracy that clung to them to build wealth and power, discovered bigotry to be a powerful tool. With it, and through their propagandists, they fueled the fires of fear and hatred in the feeble-minded who then supported the Royalists. Thus did conservatism and a philosophy of privilege become a millstone around the neck of human progress, a condition that exists to this day.

Due to this condition, the Civilist, though believing in equality, can not be color blind. Not yet. The damage of bigotry must be corrected in a way to not be a detriment to others.

The Civilist also recognizes that while there is no such thing as a superior all-around man or group, there assuredly exists the inferior individual. The bigot by his nature is an emotionally, and intellectually inferior human being. Fortunately, mankind can educate such deficient individuals into a serious minority, or out of existence altogether.
